Experts From Stibo Systems, Sitation on Tapping Into MDM and Predictive Analytics
Manufacturers are facing unprecedented challenges – from global tarriff wars to more nimble, lower-cost competitors. Many organizations are looking to digitally transform operations to tap into the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, but they’re saddled with decades-old equipment that was not designed to easily share data with other systems.
Manufacturers typically need to connect 40 to 50 siloed applications to become a truly data-driven enterprise, said James Van Pelt, manufacturing practice lead at Stibo Systems, but AI is “only going to be as smart as the data you feed it.” But there’s hope, he added.
“To connect all those systems and achieve that interoperability, you’ve got to have that good data foundation. Once you achieve that, you really have something that’s scalable and then you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Prior to that, it seems so unsurmountable that they’re ever going to get there, so we encourage everyone that it’s possible – you just have to start with the right foundation.”
Implementing good data governance and ensuring that enterprise-wide data is accessible, interoperable and shareable unlocks predictive analytics and generative AI applications, said Pramit Rajkrishna, director of solution consulting at Sitation. For example, the two companies are looking at ways to streamline highly manual processes such as accessing information in thousands of data sheets. Agentic AI agents offer new levels of autonomous processing.
“Especially with the new agentic AI solutions, we have had significant success leveraging agents to do these cleanup activities so the data is in a good state and is high quality data before it goes into a powerful MDM platform like Stibo Systems,” Rajkrishna said.
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Van Pelt and Rajkrishna discussed:
- How manufacturers can overcome master data management challenges to transform supply chain management, product information and more;
- Examples of how predictive analytics and automated AI agents can help organizations increase agility and compete more effectively;
- How Stibo Systems and Sitation are working together to help manufactures unlock enterprise data;
